SF Modernism Show Offers RARE Glimpse into the ENTIRE ERA of 20th Century Design !
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - After 25 years at the Concourse Exhibition Center, The Art Deco Show has merged with The Arts & Crafts Show to create the NEW SF Modernism 20th Century Design Show offering attendees a much broader selection of vintage genres to chose from at the event being held at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center on June 9th and June 10th, 2012.
Now under NEW management through "Penelope Productions" by Penelope, the SF Modernism Show will include OVER 100 exhibitors featuring a fusion of the BEST IN ANTIQUE GENRES ranging from the ARTS & CRAFTS MOVEMENT, ART NOUVEAU, ART DECO, STREAMLINE MODERNE, MID-CENTURY MODERN, 1950s, 60s, 70s DESIGN, VINTAGE CLOTHING, VINTAGE FINE & COSTUME JEWELRY, BAKELITE JEWELRY & EPHEMERA.
The SF Modernism Show promises to bring only the VERY BEST of The Art Deco Show and The Arts & Crafts Show resulting in the LARGEST 20th Century Design Show on the ENTIRE West Coast!
"The San Francisco Modernism Show is a celebration of 20th Century Design & Designers of the pre & post war Modernism Movement. Mission to Mid-Century, Stickley to Saarinen, High touch to High tech. The beginning of the Modernist movement in America began with the Arts & Crafts movement, designed as a departure from the Victorian era with its simplicity & straight lines. The 1920s ushered in the fabulous Art Deco Era with its streamline, shiny and elegant design. Followed by the innovation of the post war atomic age and the Mid Century Modernist was born and we never have looked back.” said Penelope, owner of Penelope Productions and promoter of the SF Modernism Show.
The SF Modernism Show will feature a wide variety of vintage items from the 20th Century including Designer Furniture, Accessories, Pottery, Glass, Fine Art, Books, Photography, Costume & Fine Jewelry, Bakelite, Vintage Clothing, Native American Art, Books, Textiles, Lighting, and Collectibles.
Scheduled events at the SF Modernism Show include a Vintage Fashion Show at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 13th produced by Teresa La Quay of the Art Deco Society of California. Models will present 20th Century Gatsby Style Clothing; a Featured Lecture on Saturday titled “Gatsby Summer Afternoon”; a themed lecture on Sunday titled “Mission to Modern”; Exclusive Exhibition of 20th Century textiles from Diane Ayers’ personal collection on display throughout the show.
The SF Modernism Show will be held at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center at 8th & Brannan St., San Francisco, CA with admission still ONLY $10! Get your hand stamped & return for free on Sunday.
The SF Modernism Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th & Sunday, June 14th, 2012 with hours on Saturday from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM.
